Advent Elizabeth Circle
Elizabeth Circle welcomes anyone interested in joining us for an evening of sharing, caring and Bible Study. Currently our studies explore the parables of Jesus. We meet the second Thursday of each month from 7 to 9am at the Oakwood West Tabor Oaks Conference Room. There is always room at our meeting table for you. We value and enjoy our relationships with one another and would like you to join us.
Advent Judith Circle
The morning circle, Judith Circle, meets 9:30am in members homes, or at the MCC, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month, September through June. Announcements (with the address of the months hostess) are always carried in the newsletter and bulletin and we urge any woman to just show upno advance call is necessary. We share a morning coffee break and the Bible Study found in the centerfold of the magazine, Lutheran Woman Today. We deepen our faith and our friendship all at the same time and we try to keep abreast of issues affecting women whether thats community-, nation-, or world-wide. The free-will offering we collect supports the national womens organization of the ELCA as well as needs here at Advent/MCC. Wed love to have you join us whenever you can.
Advent Men's Monthly Prayer Group (SNAGs)
The Advent Men's Group (sometimes referred to as the Sensitive New Age GuysSNAGs) meets each week at 7:00 AM on Mondays. Except for holidays, those meetings are held in the Rathskeller at the University's Memorial Union. The men discuss a wide variety of topics both spiritual and secular. We also have an annual overnight "golf and steak" outing and periodically engage in public service work such as working with local organizations on projects. Men of all ages are very welcome to attend and so are women for that matter (we could stand the quality improvement that would result).
Advent Men's Friday Breakfast Group (FATIGUEs)
FATIGUEs = Fellows Always Tired Of Getting Up Early. The FATIGUEs men's group at Advent was originally formed off of a sub-set of the Family Fellowship group. We get together for breakfast on Friday mornings at 6:30am at the Original Pancake House on University Avenue. We also try to get together on occasion for other activities, such as a night of pool at the Green Room.
Advent Women's Breakfast Group
The Advent Women's Breakfast Group meets weekly on Thursday mornings starting at 7:00am, although latecomers are always welcome, at Panera Bread on University Avenue. We meet for fellowship and support; we meet for laughter and sharing of family events; we meet for book talks and friendship. There is always room for one more, so if you have about an hour that you would like to spend with good company and great rolls, please pull up a chair. If you would like more information, please contact Linda Pils (238-3089) or JoAnne Streit (231-1525).
